sometimes i think owen looks just like my dad when he was younger...

yesterday, for the first time, owen stood up from a seated position

- without pulling himself up on something and without any other assistance - 

and took off walking. 

oh those little things that seem so so monumental!

so, i CANNOT wait until we turn O so that he is forward-facing in the car.

i can only imagine how much more interesting the road ahead will be for him

than the monotony of the rear seat...

and how fun it will be to interact with him as we ride along.

 i just hope i'm not getting my hopes up too much,

because let me tell you, i expect pure bliss after the big "turn."

all that said, however, i'm biting the unhappy-car-rides bullet for safety.

(and trying ever so hard to remind myself not to wish any time away

[no matter how many less than happy car trips we take]

while i anxiously await big milestones, like this one.)

oh what a month

i feel like so much has happened in the last month.

the biggest news is that owen is walking!

he looks like a drunken sailor still but he is really getting the hang of it, to the point that he's walking across the room and catching his balance and even turning the corner while walking.

owen has also started clapping, which is so so cute.
